“So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life.”
Verse 18
Every Scripture comes from God. At that time nobody preached the Gospel to Gentiles. After the order from God, it started preaching the Gospel to Gentiles. Why did not they preach Gospel to Gentiles? Was it written in the old testament? No, rather it was written to preach Gospel to Gentiles. If so, why did not they preach Gospel to Gentiles?
In my thinking, they had the pride that Jews were the only people who had been selected by God. So they could not think that other people could be saved. And even the other people did not worship God so they thought the other people were not reserved to be saved from their God. And I think they might miss the fact that God is the love of God and the love is to cover the whole universe. So God’s love covers all things and all the people except betrayers such as evil ones, devils, and who are included in their evil spirit.
So, when we consider that God is the love of God all people are reserved to be saved by the tolerance of God. Nowadays a similar situation happens in our church. Many saints take for granted to contact the previous saints and do not have much concern about the unbelievers. The point is that it is considered granted.
I think we have reached out our concern much more outside to the Gentiles who are unbelievers nowadays. And don’t accept that our mission is limited only to the believers. Our Lord of Jesus loves the lost sheep to come back better than the previous believers. So we have to please our Lord o Jesus by preaching the Gospel to the unbelievers more.
We have to think about which one is preferable to our Lord of Jesus Christ who is our Savior.
telling the message only to Jews.
Verse 19~21
Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
