Acts Ch.2

I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below

Verse 19

In the last days, God shows us wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below. Through this we can know the great and glorious day of the Lord is coming soon.

everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

Verse 21

Who is saved from this curse caused by our sins? God says everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. So the name of the Lord Jesus is the key to salvation.

But there is another scripture saying not everybody who calls the Lord is saved but who acts with the words of God will be saved. So, exactly the people who call on the name of the Lord and do as the Lord says will be saved. Calling and Doing are essential for salvation.

“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

Verse 40

God says this generation is corrupt which means this corrupt generation would perish and would die forever. To be saved from perishment my effort needs. The effort to follow Jesus and the effort to call on the name of the Lord is needed. Many things we are doing are based on the grace of salvation from the curse. We do so many God’s work because of the happiness we are saved.

Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
All the believers were together and had everything in common.
Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Verse 42-47

These sentences are the following actions of the people who experienced miraculous signs done by apostles. The early church members did some actions because of the joy of salvation. They were together and did everything together. And selling possessions and goods for giving to the people who needed them. Praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. So the Lord added to their number daily who were being saved.
