Verse 6-7
- I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
- “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
I was some confusion about this chapter. Because the manager was a dishonest man but after his doing he was complimented by the Lord. Why? Because he cut down the debtor’s depth using his master’s assets. So I wondered why this action of using his master’s asset to cut down the depth is a good deed. It looked like a thief. However, Jesus said this manager’s action was good.
My questions are here
- Who is the rich man?
- Who is the manager?
- What is worldly wealth?
- Why the manager’s action was wise? Because he just cut down his Lord’s wealth.
- What is the meaning of cutting down on another’s depth?
- What is related to verse 13? No one can serve two masters. Is this a different story?
- What is the meaning of verse 8? For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of light.
If I apply these words to me, worldly wealth is the wealth I have now which is given to me to manage it. And if I deal with it well then I can get eternal life. Using this worldly wealth, I can get a people’s mind and be welcomed by them.
They will appreciate me and God the owner because they could get profit.
So, using the wealth Go gave me to manage, I can do good things well in this world. And guide them to God as well to make them acquainted well.
But if I waste my wealth for me only the nI will be expelled and weep sadly in the darkness. The manager wasted his possession.
How to deal with wealth? The Pharisees used worldly wealth only for themselves and loved money more than God. The right action is to love the rich owner of God more than money. This is wisdom and God’s will.
God is rich and can trust much more if we are reliable. If we are reliable God will trust much wealth and many people.
The Point is this I have to be the appropriate person who God can trust for both wealth and people.
I have to use the money to get the mind of people not for me. I shall not be the person who loves the wealth more than the owner of God. I shall not be dominated by wealth. I will go to hell if I am dominated by worldly wealth and will be in agony.
If worldly wealth is used wrong that will become a curse to me. So God cannot trust the worldly wealth of me. I suffered these two or three weeks in a similar situation. I loved more wealth than God so I lost the wealth. It is maybe God’s blessing and notice and warning.
“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ “
Verse 31
Someone says if I was blar blar then I would do better and choose good. However, in my experience, if they do something like that even if they listened to the words then they would not turn even though the dead person is shown in a dream some tragedy.
So, in my experience, the words are enough and do not need any other proof to make them believe. Words have the power to move some people by themselves. Illusion and miracles are not essential to make some people believe in God. Words are enough for the people of God.
